Mission statement

We aim to operate in Italy and internationally to protect and improve the psychosocial well-being and mental health of people, families, groups and communities affected by disaster, war, inter-ethnic conflict, underdevelopment and migration, with the purpose of contributing to peace, the protection of human rights, gender equality and disabilities and to promote sustainable development, cultural diversity and intercultural integration.

We pursue, independently and in collaboration with other organizations, the following humanitarian objectives, with particular attention to psychosocial problems, using specific psychological and social tools:

  • to cooperate with individuals, families, groups and communities in developing countries, building relationships based on principles of independence and partnership;
  • to intervene in emergency and post-emergency settings on the behalf of affected populations to quickly restore the necessary conditions to restart the development process;
  • to protect and improve mental health and psychosocial well-being and promote integration of immigrants and their families and other vulnerable groups.

In pursuit of these objectives, we adhere to the universal principles of human rights, United Nations treaties and conventions, European Union regulations for cooperation and development, humanitarian emergencies and migration and the guidelines of the Italian Foreign Ministry. We also adhere to the principles of the Ethical Charter for Member Organizations of the Association of Italian Organizations for Cooperation and International Solidarity.
